There are two categories for the MAP program:
CATEGORY I (For Honorably Discharged/Retired or Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard Personnel)
This applies to the following: (a) Active duty or retired US military personnel, (b) Active/retired US military reserve personnel, and (c) Honorably discharged US military veterans (must produce military ID or DD-214).
1. $55 for the NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course.
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
CATEGORY II (For Honorably Discharged US Military Veterans or active duty Military/Reservist with Documented Deployment in War Zone (must produce proof of deployment & military ID if active or DD-214 showing deployment).
1. $55 for the NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course or $120 for the combination NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course and NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course if taken within fourteen (14) days of completing the Pre-Assignment Course with us.
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
SPECIAL CATEGORY FOR SERVICE CONNECTED DISABLED
US MILITARY VETERANS WHO HAVE A DOCUMENTED SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY AND FOR ALL PURPLE HEART MEDAL
RECIPIENTS**
This training program, consistent with our community-based commitment and in sincere gratitude for their service, is absolutely FREE for eligible US military veterans with approved/documented service connected disabilities and Purple Heart Medal recipients through us and provides the following benefits:
For Service Connected Disabled Veterans with VA ID Card indicating "Service Connected" (Purple Heart Medal recipients please see next category):
1. NO CHARGE (full tuition waiver) for the NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course. School may also waive tuition fee for the NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course on a space available basis.
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
For Purple Heart Medal Recipients ONLY:
1. NO CHARGE for the following NYS Security Guard Courses (unarmed):
(a) NYS Pre-Assignment Course for Security Guards.
(b) NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards.
(c) NYS Eight Hour Annual In-Service Training Course for Security Guards.
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
Category III Eligibility: Applications for this category will be taken from the following:
(a) Honorably discharged disabled US military veterans who have a documented service-connected disability (must show proper VA documentation/proof of service-connected disability). Note: A VA hospital card is not acceptable proof of disability unless it is marked "service connected".
(b) Purple Heart Medal recipients must produce copy of DD-214 or Purple Heart Medal Certificate of Award.
